Vintage cars make many hearts beat faster and simply radiate a love of life. At the same time, when viewed soberly, collector's vehicles represent valuables for which a valuation report or a brief assessment can be useful for various reasons.
A value report is necessary, for example, for the insurance classification of a particularly high-quality vehicle. Here, the insurance companies often require a very detailed and comprehensive vehicle inspection for the valuation. But a valuation report is also recommended for the valuation of a converted vehicle, for the purchase or sale of a vehicle, in the event of accident damage or even theft. Then it is advisable to be able to prove that the vehicle was in very good condition before the accident or theft, for example, and that it stands out from the average market value.
It is important to update the insured value, because in the event of an accident, the insurance company will pay out the amount specified in the report, even if this is no longer up-to-date. The value of many classic cars increases steadily and sometimes by leaps and bounds, so that an appraisal report can quickly become outdated.
The scope of an appraisal is very extensive and detailed. It includes the following checkpoints:
Sheet metal, paint, chrome, seals/rubber parts, glass, tyres, passenger compartment, engine compartment, engine and trunk. In addition, test drives, compression pressure diagrams, oil analyses, cavity analyses, etc. can be carried out.
Brief valuation
A brief valuation is necessary for the insurance classification, for example, and includes a multi-page assessment certificate with 12 photos and a condition note, taking into account all value-influencing factors. It is advisable to update the short evaluation at certain intervals.
Costs
The costs for an value report on its scope and usually start at EUR 350.00 including VAT.
The cost of a brief valuation is lower because the scope is smaller. These ar EUR 140.00 incl. VAT.
